Hopping along in Norwegian pre-K!

The past week’s theme in Norwegian Pre-K was emotions, and we had so much fun learning about them! During free-play, we made different funny faces – both on paper and on magnetic boards, and some also played an emotion matching game.

Becky Annika Hegstad, Dean of Language Discovery Programs, was a presenter at last week’s ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) national convention in New Orleans, LA. The conference attracts approximately 8,000 language educators on a yearly basis, and features the latest trends and best practices in the field of foreign language teaching. We’re so proud that she was invited to present!

Joyeux Halloween!

French preschoolers celebrated Halloween last Friday! Many wore their fantastic costumes to class. We learned the names of some spooky characters and worked together to match body parts to the correct character. For our craft, we made potirons (jack-­‐o-­‐lanterns) and used the words we had learned for colors and parts of the face to make our decorations!

After-school Spanish: Let the games begin!

As families, our Spanish learners have begun competing in the popular game show Minuto para ganar (Minute to win it). Challenges involve precision, speed, dexterity - and language, too! The family that earns the most points gets to spin the final rueda (wheel), determining what silly activity will bring class to a close for the day. It’s so much fun!
