Sexism in Japan
Published: August 7, 2019
Last night, one of our 学生(がくせい • gakusei • "student" / credit villager) lead the evening activity for their final project! The program aimed to simulate sexism, which is a major problem at Japanese work places. The villagers were labeled with squares or stars and those with squares had advantages or preferential treatment in the activities. This ended with a frank discussion about how sexism plays a role in the Japanese workplace as well as the world. 大変よくできました!(たいへんよくできました • taihen yoku dekimashita • "you did very well!")
