Day 2 started with a sunny but chilly weather and каша (oatmeal) for breakfast to deepen the knowledge and feel of Russian cuisine of our villagers. After the breakfast they had their first lesson and learnt new words in Russian.
During cultural hours we did a variety of activities such as soccer, volleyball, chess, dancing, cooking class, and painting матрёшки (Russian nesting dolls). Villagers could pick whichever activity they pleased. All kids and parents participated in cultural hours which helped them to make new friends and broaden their knowledge about Russian culture and arts.
In the evening Tamara and our kitchen team cooked a very delicious meal for us. Some villagers have never tried фаршированный перец (stuffed pepper) but they liked it so much and even asked for a recipe. Even though the rain has started it didn't affect our villagers' team spirit and they all gathered at the Санкт-Петербург (Saint-Petersburg) building to have a really good time together until it was time for bed.
Our counselor Antosha has a birthday today as well and we were very excited to greet him at lunch. You can learn more about him from the video.
