Fort Boyard: Take Two!
Published: August 7, 2019
Today at Lesnoe Ozero, many of our credit villagers took their final exams and worked on their final projects. These exams are a chance for villagers to gauge the huge amounts that they have learned over the past three and a half weeks and to concretize their accomplishments, and we here at Lesnoe Ozero are so proud of all of their hard work!
Our four-week non-credit villagers headed off for a camping trip today, traveling to a site on Buck Lake, next to Al Waha, the Arabic language village, where they used their Russian knowledge (prepared in class throughout the week) to interact with nature and set up their own campsite.
At cultural hours, villagers participated in a wide range of activities, many of which were aimed at preparation for Concordia Language Village’s International Day. One such activity is our OОН (United Nations) cultural hour, during which our village delegates prepare for discussions that will take place with delegations from other villages on Friday. Our counselor Настя (Nastya) led a cultural hour on современный танец (modern dance), during which villagers learned a variety of modern dance styles.
For our evening program today, villagers participated in an old favorite, Форт Боярд (Fort Boyard). Based on the popular Russian game-show of the same name, villagers traveled to various stations set up around camp and completed challenges set to them at each of these stations!
