Je me baladais sur l'avenue...

Published: July 18, 2018

...le coeur ouvert à l'inconnu...  We're certainly keeping our hearts open to the unknown: today we transfered to Poitiers and met up with our host families!  It's a little bit nerve-wracking to stay with a family for a week, and doubly so to do so in a foreign language, but our migrateurs are more than up to the challenge.

Before leaving Paris, though, we took on not one, but two of Paris' best-known thoroughfares: les Champs-Elysées and la Seine!  We had a Bateaux-Mouches boat tour in the morning, which was an awesome chance to see Paris from the water; it was neat to see how the whole city fits together around the river.  In the afternoon, we strolled along the Champs-Elysées and feasted our eyes on the window displays (and our stomachs on some ice cream...).  Fortunately, we were au soleil and not sous la pluie, but we couldn't stay from midi until minuit, because we had to catch our train to Poitiers!  The TGV made short work of the trip, and soon we were saying Bonjour! to our host families!

In addition to today's photos, check out the song that was running through our heads all day!  Il y a tout ce que vous voulez... The only thing left for us to want was more time in Paris!
