Journée Fables de la Fontaine

Published: June 13, 2017

Bonjour à tous et à toutes ! (Salutations!)

Today, Jean de La Fontaine, a French fabulist, came to visit Lac du Bois! De La Fontaine is well-known in France for his adaptations of fables such as Le Tortue et la lièvre (The Hare and the Tortoise) and Le Lion et le rat (The Lion and the Mouse).  This evening, each pavillion (cabin) had the chance to learn and act out one of Jean de La Fontaine's fables tous ensemble  (all together).

Villagers spent their first full day at Lac du Bois today, beginning with a breakfast of muesli, yogurt, and fruit, followed by their explorations of a Francophone region such as Switzerland or Quebec.  Despite the rain, villageois (villagers) had a great time learning new French songs, participating in passe-temps  (pastime) activities, and making new friends!

To stories and silliness,

-Eliénore
