Journée Cirque du Soleil
Published: August 11, 2019
Bonjour ! Hello! Today's theme was Cirque du Soleil (Circus of the Sun), which was founded in 1984 in Quebec. Each show includes circus styles from around the world, with its own central theme and storyline, using live music provided by the performers! Today's veillée (program) was a rotation of five stations, where villagers had the opportunity to try "tightrope walking" (slackline), jump-roping, and a variety of other circus activities!
Since it was Sunday, we had a bit of a different schedule today; this afternoon we spent some time choreographing dances to songs from around the Francophone world! The performance itself is called Décadanses (Ten Dances), but since we only have seven cabins of villagers at the moment -- we'll fill three more with one-week villagers who arrive tomorrow! -- we only had seven dances in total. For our evening activity, the two-week villagers told stories around the campfire and had a calm evening together while the four-week credit villagers had café crédit, where they worked on assignments and completing their portfolios. It's hard to believe that we only have one week left together!
