23 août 2019 — la journée de la Fête des Lumières à Lyon
Published: August 24, 2019
Today was our final full day at Lac du Bois this summer, so we made sure to savor each tradition for a last time (until 2020, that is!). One such tradition is Plaisirs d'amour, our daily soap opera, performed and improvised by our monos (counselors)! The plots change from year to year, but one thing remains constant—each "season" ends at the beach, on the dock, with counselors precariously close to falling into the water... but why don't you see for yourself? I have uploaded a video here of this session's Plaisirs d'amour so villagers can relive the funny moments!
In the photo album linked at the end of this post, you'll see other last activities: a last session of the West African cooking activity for our adult participants, a last game of football, and a last songtime, including all the songs we sang this week. We finished the day with a fancy banquet and a dance party! Our Lac du Bois session-ending dance parties are another long-standing tradition and we love to turn on French music from around the world, including songs we've choreographed line dances to!
