Closing Ceremony

Published: July 19, 2017

This year’s closing ceremony was a huge surprise! The ceremony was not held by any of the staff but by students. All students gathered together to express their gratitude to Collegetown Prep staff who made these students’ summer both productive and entertaining.  Staff are awarded different gifts, small in size but big in meaning, making the entire program unforgettable for everyone.

The ceremony certainly served as a reflection of our very precious time together. As our family away from home sat together in our common room, we shared some of our most cherished moments from these amazing two weeks. Between the inside jokes and the memories, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.

These precious memories include but are not limited to the first time we met, the first time we traveled together, and the first time we talked and shared our unique stories. We staff had the opportunity to participate in the villagers' most valuable and fun experiences while acting out a mock wedding ceremony, attending a Church service, celebrating Christmas and Fourth of July, or watching a live play and a baseball game. All these activities gave rise to new stories that each and every one of us made sure to carry back home and share with family and friends. At the end of the closing ceremony, all students and staff made strong wishes to return back to Concordia with more interesting stories that can highly influence and be influenced by others’ stories
