Next week starts our first virtual meeting of Club Al-Waha, or "nadi Al-Waha" نادي الواحة in Arabic, and we have so many fun things in store for our villagers.
Club Al-Waha is a way for new and returning villagers ages ten to eighteen to get a taste of Arabic language and culture in an informal setting. We meet via Zoom every Wednesday from October 14th to November 18th, from 4:30pm-5:30pm CDT. Each week we will explore different activities like calligraphy, drumming on "tabla" طبلة and more, all taught entirely in Arabic.
Still early in your Arabic learning? We are here to help! No prior experience or knowledge required in the language or the cultural activities. Some complex global topics of cultural relevance may be discussed in English with references to target-language culture(s). These non-credit sessions are COPPA and FERPA compliant.
October 14th we have the honor of hosting Minna منّة the calligraphy teacher for our first نادي الواحة Club Al-Waha meeting! Besides being a former credit villager and counselor at Al-Waha, منّة has studied in Morocco and Qatar!
هي فنانة لطيفة وممتازة! Check out our Instagram for her introduction video.
Want to expand your world? There are still spaces available, so sign up for Club Al-Waha by October 9.
