Today we welcomed a new group of two-week villagers to Al-Waha Arabic language village, and from the looks of them, we anticipate a great session ahead of us.
Friday night was a very special evening at Al-Waha. Everyone at the village, from counselors to the villagers, put on their best attire once again and turned out for an extravagant cena, or dinner.
A summer at camp couldn’t be complete without a good, old-fashioned scavenger hunt, could it? At Al-Waha, we honored the scavenger hunt tradition, but added a few special twists.
Stories are a powerful tool for relating history, tradition, and culture in societies across the world. We explored the strong storytelling tradition in the Arab world one night, and became actors in the process!
Canoeing is one of the most quintessential aspects of any summer camp, so we took a break from village life one evening and took the entire village on a sunset canoe trip around the lake.
