Oktoberfest Workshop

Have some Waldsee fun this fall and join us, on-site, for Oktoberfest, a beer-themed German immersion weekend!

Whether you have German language skills to refresh and expand, or are just starting out in the language and want a culturally thematic introduction to it, this residential adult weekend is perfect for you.  Activities and discussions will focus on brewing and the historical importance of beer in German-speaking lands while also including a sampling of various types of beers from Bemidji Brewing Company.

Program Leader

Angela Johanna Schneider is a leader of Waldsee, the German Language Village, during year-round programming. Johanna has been on staff at Concordia Language Villages for 15 years, working with summer High School Credit, Credit Abroad, winter Weekend programs and Family programs.

Johanna received her teaching degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison after studying in Bonn, Magdeburg and Minden. She has taught German at both high school and middle school levels. She has professional experience in Europe as a camp counselor, a Fulbright Teaching Assistant and leader of exchange trips. She loves dancing, gardening and sharing Waldsee with her own family.
