French Adult Virtual Discussion Circles offer a more relaxed language and cultural experience in a real-time interactive small group setting. You will take a cultural and linguistic journey through food, stories, historical recordings and so much more — all designed to increase your French skills. Asynchronous activities for you to complete at home will be provided to extend learning.
Interested in French cuisine, table traditions and culinary topics? Join us for a French Adult Virtual Discussion Circle themed: On Passe à Table. Each week, enjoy a unique presentation by François Fouquerel; a Normandy, France native; French Adult program leader and baker for Concordia Language Villages, as he leads the group through the journey.
To warm up we will travel to le Pays Basque for a hearty meal of peppers and tomatoes. We'll also explore les quiches et tartes salées.
French recipes will be shared that participants will choose from to create and then share their experience and results at the next meeting time. Note: cooking takes place outside of meeting time.
All language levels welcome.

The curiosity and a desire to discover what faraway place and the other side of the hill have to offer — that's what the French call Là-bas! The Là-bas Virtual Village Club offers adult villagers conversations about authentic and contemporary cultural themes from the French-speaking world.
Villagers will enter the world of Fred Pellerin — a storyteller from Quebec — and through Lynda Lemay we'll consider how the French people and the Québécois see one another. Travel the world with French aerial photographer Yann Artus-Bertrand while discovering his ecological message, then listen to the adventure of French women sailors. And do it all en français!
Là-bas is intended for intermediate to advanced French speakers and led by staff with subject matter expertise. Participants will be grouped by similar proficiency. Staff to villager ratio of 1:8 on average.
Meets Mondays from 6:30-7:45 p.m. over Zoom.
